Rockits win the Golden Skate; Garda Belts take third
The fourth season of derby with the Minnesota RollerGirls came to a close on Saturday night. The season championship is always bittersweet -- it's the culmination of a great season and it's the day we all know derby will be under wraps and practice-only for several months. This was an exceptional season all around with a great fall home vs. away lineup, a slew of wonderful rookies, and a home season that was a fight to the very end.
In the end, the Rockits went home with their second Golden Skate over the Dagger Dolls and the Garda Belts pulled out an impressive win over the Atomic Bombshells in a battle for third place.
